Scalability and Reliability

The modular component structure of SMS PASSCODE^® offers extensive scalability and reliability. Any of the login, passcode generator and SMS transmitter services including hardware components can dynamically be added or removed on the fly.

The solution is highly scalable: The very same product can scale from a few users to hundreds of thousands of users while in operation - and this can be done directly from your Corporate Credentials Registry (AD).  An advanced load balancing engine can share the load across multiple servers, countries and even mobile phones and carriers. E.g. the modem and carrier chosen for the transmission of the code can be defined by the users country code, the domain they belong to or similar attributes.

The solution is highly reliable: The advanced load balancing and back-up policy engine also inserts an industry-leading reliable installation that protects against single-point of failure for each of the individual SMS PASSCODE server components, the individual modems offering carrier redundancy services, for alternate-code delivery phone if the user has misplaced the phone and for failure in the corporate credentials store.

Its extensive range and flexibility empowers organizations in their critical efforts to improve the agility and dynamics of the enterprise environment, while maintaining the highest level of corporate asset security.

The SMS PASSCODE architecture consists of a set of components that are cloud capable enabling these to be distributed anywhere on the fly:

• The authentication clients are the plug-ins to the various access systems such as Citrix, Cisco, Microsoft etc. ensuring a transparent and secure log-in user experience. 
• The load balancing services can be deployed on demand for larger deployments
• The Transmitter services handle the real-time code generation and transmission
• The system automatically extract user data from a corporate registry such as Active Directory / LDAP
