New SMS PASSCODE® token trade-in program remove hurdle of replacing tokens with cost neutral easy upgrade to SMS PASSCODE
Leading token vendor replaces tokens due to hackers breaching their customers networks. SMS PASSCODE® launches global token trade-in campaign and re-iterate that the more secure log-in process used by SMS PASSCODE prevent this type of attack validating our more secure log-in approach.
Copenhagen, June 22, 2011 –
SMS PASSCODE®, the recognized technology leader in two-factor
authentication, launches a new token trade-in program enabling customers to trade-in valid tokens for a discount when procuring SMS PASSCODE®. This program augment the previously announced co-existence program enabling
legacy two-factor authentication customers to migrate smoothly at their own pace.
Last year a threat named Zeus appeared designed to phish token codes and this year, a recent incident at a token manufacturer has put the core concept of 'pre-issued' token codes under pressure. These threats against legacy two-factor authentication technologies help
validate the new generation SMS PASSCODE® solution, where the User ID and password is validated before a code is generated and send in real time via SMS, voice or secure e-mail to the users mobile device.
As corporations are exposed, it is natural that people are challenged with replacing critical components of the IT security infrastructure as that involves both costs and time and risk. To help gain better security against above token hacks, SMS PASSCODE today released a new token trade-in program valid through September 30th, 2011, by which, valid tokens can be traded in for a SMS PASSCODE license with a 25% trade-in discount applied to that license fee. This new program augments the SMS PASSCODE® support of a co-existence configuration in which customers can run a legacy token system and SMS PASSCODE side-by-side during a migration and architecture decision process.
The two programs combined solve the immediate security threat pain without a major effort and with limited financial exposure.
