SMS PASSCODE® Password Reset Extension Module
Employee's loose their password either to theft or simply forget it. Therefore, a critical and often time-consuming part of any remote access solution is the secure handling and maintenance of user passwords when users forget them.
Most password reset solutions rely on a simple one-factor challenge - e.g. a question like “what is the name of your favorite movie”, or an equally simplistic verification. Others rely on complex implementations including PC clients being distributed and various Password Reset systems having plug-ins installed.
This is not the case with SMS PASSCODE® Password Reset as this solution is designed for a more simple, cloud-based architecture. This enables a more secure two-factor authentication approach via the SMS PASSCODE® PRM or Password Reset Module, that supports secure Active Directory Password Reset.
As outlined in below image, when users access the Self-Service Password Reset page, they are first asked to validate user ID and their “personal passcode” PIN entered at activation, after which a passcode is generated and delivered in real-time. Once the passcode is entered, the system allows for an AD password reset.

This is a simple and modern approach that can easily be deployed in a private cloud configuration.
